A transplant from Jackson, Mississippi, Robin believes deeply that when we speak, we shape the world. She found her voice early, organizing and leading a successful campaign to replace the Confederate flag at her public high school with a student-inspired symbol rooted in inclusion, shared pride, dignity, and belonging.

That early work sparked a lifetime of civic engagement—from helping lead Meet in the Middle for Equality, to co-directing the National Equality March in Washington, D.C. in 2009, to co-founding GetEQUAL. Along the way, she participated in peaceful civil action to call attention to the need for equal treatment under the law, including advocating for the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and “Defense of Marriage Act." She later was invited to witness the same legislators she had protested sign the repeal of both DADT and DOMA.

Today, she organizes locally & nationally with a focus on serving as her Mayor’s 1st LGBTQ+ community liaison, youth engagement in Florida and community-led Pride efforts across Mississippi. In each role, she works to build understanding, strengthen relationships, and foster dialogue across differences.

Everything she does is rooted in a passion to build a better future for her children, and continued generations, by helping move our culture from polarized to mobilized, reminding Americans that we share more values than we often realize, and pushing the belief that lasting progress comes from listening, collaboration, and working together.
